Strength Training

Explore strength training basics with Onde, including movement patterns, resistance exercises, technique, and ways to build a manageable, consistent routine.

Strength training uses resistance to create a focused movement practice. That resistance might come from weights, machines, bands, or your own body weight. Getting started is about understanding the exercises and finding a manageable routine, rather than choosing the heaviest equipment in the room.

Learn the movement first

Begin by understanding what an exercise is intended to practise and how the equipment works. An instructor can demonstrate the setup and help you choose a suitable variation. Give yourself time to become familiar with the movement before making the session more demanding.

Choose a clear session structure

A simple plan makes it easier to know what comes next. Group exercises in a way that suits your experience, available equipment, and time. Keep the plan easy to follow so that you can focus on each movement rather than constantly deciding what to do.

Record useful details

Note the exercise variation, equipment settings, and any coaching points you want to remember. A short training record can help you repeat a familiar session and discuss adjustments with an instructor. You do not need to track every detail for the record to be useful.

Allow the routine to develop

Once a session feels familiar, review it with your coach or instructor. An adjustment might involve technique, exercise choice, resistance, or how the session is organised. Change things deliberately rather than adding difficulty simply because another person is doing more.

Build a repeatable practice

Choose training times you can realistically keep and allow room for recovery between demanding sessions. Consistency is easier when the plan works with your life. At Onde, a clear starting point and supportive instruction help make each visit feel more approachable.
